Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men, seized four weapons, drugs and nearly $25,000 in cash following a search warrant Wednesday, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies say officers went to an address on Old Number Six Highway in reference to a 2012 Cadillac Escalade, currently registered in four states, with an altered vehicle identification number.

When officers approached the residence, they could smell a distinct odor coming from the location, the report stated.

Deputies say 25-year-old Reshawn L. Shuler answered the door and allowed officers into the home to conduct an investigation in reference to the automobile.

Once inside the residence, officers observed narcotics and a weapon in a bedroom, the report stated.

Deputies say they obtained and executed a search warrant.

During the search of the home and an enclosed trailer on the property, officers discovered more than two pounds of marijuana, three additional weapons, $24,973 was located in a camera bag and a bank bag, 20 Ecstasy pills, and other items associated with narcotic activity, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Reshawn L. Shuler and 19-year-old Lewis Dontrell Shuler were arrested.

“Inspector Ophelia Ketcherside initiated this investigation into the stolen vehicle,” said Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell. “The results produced not only the recovery of a SUV that was reported stolen from Atlanta in March of this year but also the seizure of cash, marijuana, and narcotics. I am extremely proud of the results of the officers of this agency in how effective they are in cleaning up the illegal activity in this county. We will consistently enforce the laws of this state and nation to improve the communities we live in.”
