Voting Tips: Don’t forget your ID

 

If you’re headed to the polls Nov. 6, the Richland County Elections and Voter Registration office would like to remind all county voters of identification required to vote.  

One of three types of valid ID is required:

 

1.            SC drivers license

2.            Voter registration card

3.            SC ID card issued by DMV

Orangeburg County extends hours of operations for absentee voting precincts

The Orangeburg County Voter Registration and Elections Commission has extended the following satellite absentee voting precincts:

 

  • The Orangeburg County Council Chambers located at the  Orangeburg County Administrate Centre, 1437 Amelia Street, Orangeburg, SC, through Saturday, November 3, 2012.  This satellite precinct will closed at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, November 5, 2012

Orangeburg County announces its absentee voting locations.

Voters may vote an in-person absentee ballot at one of the following polling locations from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.:

 

  •  Orangeburg County Administrative Centre, 1437 Amelia Street, Orangeburg, SC  29116
  •  North Senior Citizen and Fitness Center located at 9406 North Road, North, SC  29112
  •  Vance Senior Citizen Community Center located at 10304 Old Number Six Highway, Vance, SC 29163

Absentee voting is underway throughout South Carolina, and the State Election Commission wants to inform voters about associated procedures and deadlines.  Voters who meet one of the qualifying reasons listed below may cast an absentee ballot either in person or by mail.

DOJ Approves SC Congressional Map

On Friday, the U.S. Department of Justice sent notice that the South Carolina Congressional Map had received preclearance.  This notice of approval included the addition of South Carolina’s newly added 7th Congressional District.
