Man shot outside hotel dumpster, police search for female shooter | News

ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS)- Orangeburg Police are investigating a shooting outside a city hotel Thursday afternoon.
Captain Mike Adams told WIS that a man crawled into the dumpster behind the Super 8 Hotel on John C. Calhoun Drive to look for aluminum cans when he was shot in the stomach at about 12:15 p.m.
Adams said the woman who shot him was about 5'7", black, with long burgundy and black hair. She was wearing a yellow shirt.
The victim was taken to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital by medical helicopter where his condition has not been released.
Although several witnesses told police they saw the woman walking behind the hotel, she has not been found.
Captain Adams said investigators believe the shooting was a random act of violence.
