SANTEE, SC (AP) - Authorities say a woman's body was found inside a parked van in Santee.
Investigators say it appears 31-year-old Kathy Mack of Orangeburg was shot to death, but an autopsy has been ordered to confirm how she died.
Authorities told the Times and Democrat of Orangeburg that the body was found in the van around 4 p.m. Thursday. Witnesses say crime scene technicians looking for evidence in the van also found a small puppy.
Investigators say they are questioning several people about the shooting, but haven't determined a motive.
"We have very little information at this time and we are still trying to piece either what exactly took place," said Sheriff Leroy Ravenell. "We do have some leads and we are following up on those leads."
