The American Red Cross is calling for licensed health services volunteers to register for “Just in Time” training to help in the aftermath of recent tornados and floods, as well as anticipated flooding in the Midwest. 

The Red Cross, in coordination with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health is hosting “Just in Time” training sessions for selected health services volunteers.  The trainings will be held on Thursday May 19 from 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in several locations in South Carolina. 

Volunteers are asked to deploy for at least two weeks after training is complete.  If unable to deploy at this time, volunteers will be placed on a list for response during hurricane season.  In order to deploy, volunteers will need the following:

•             Ability to pass a criminal background check

•             Hold a valid driver’s license

•             Be willing and able to live and work in adverse conditions

•             Be in excellent physical and mental health
