Poker Machines, Beer and Cigarettes Seized in Undercover Investigation

The Orangeburg County Sheriff Department seized 9 illegal poker machines, 95 cases of beer, and 25 packs of cigarettes following an undercover alcohol investigation.

According to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, a Special Operations investigation was conducted last week at Garrick’s Grocery, 4121 Norway Rd., Norway.

During the investigation officers were able to purchase beer and observed an 18-year-old in possession and drinking beer.

Business Owner John P. Garrick was charged with the sale of beer without an alcohol license and a minor in possession of beer.

Sharon M. Garrick was charged for the sale of beer by an unlicensed person. 

In addition to $1410 in fines, Sharon Garrick will be charged with possession of illegal poker machines.
