Deputies locate suspect hiding in mother’s closet | Crime

The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 22-year-old Orangeburg man after marijuana and a shotgun were located in his home.

According to a news release, investigators along with a K-9 officer conducted a search warrant at a North Trail Road address on Wednesday morning.

When officers arrived, they asked a 19-year-old where 22-year-old Frederick Akeem Shuler was, the 19-year-old told officers “he was not sure where he was.”

After searching the home, officers located Shuler in his mother’s closet. Officers searched the home and a white Chevrolet Cavalier in the yard and located 143 grams of marijuana, a sawed off automatic shotgun, several cell phones, and other items associated with narcotic activity.

Shuler’s bond hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
