Sheriff: SC Sheriffs’ Association never uses telemarketing to raise funds | Crime

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell is warning citizens about scammers that are currently contacting citizens in the name of the South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association to raise funds.

 “It is important that citizens be vigilant now and as the holidays approach, said Sheriff Ravenell. “If you receive a call from someone saying they are calling on behalf of the Sheriffs’ Association, hang up immediately. The South Carolina Sheriffs’ Association never uses telemarketing to raise funds.”
