Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina is expanding its mission services to Orangeburg with a new retail store opening October 4.

The Grand Opening will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony and the “Key to Goodwill” will be presented to Bernard Haire, Mayor Pro Tem.

The new Orangeburg Goodwill Retail Store is located at 1734 St. Matthews Road. “By expanding the number of our stores, we are expanding the opportunity for people to donate and therefore expanding our ability to further achieve our mission of providing jobs, job training and placement for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment,” said Robert Smith, CEO and President for Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina.

The Grand opening day celebration will begin with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. and include:

  • Prize drawings every half hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Live radio broadcasts from WGFG Cat Country and WQKI Old School!
  • Free hot dogs!
  • Coupon for a free massage from Health Source when you make a donation!

The new 15,000 square foot retail store features a brightly lit, clean interior and a convenient drive-through donation center for donors.

“When people have economic independence, they tend to be happier, more confident and contribute more to their community,” said Smith.
