SC State’s Fall Executive Speaker Series Culminates with Boeing Executive

Cumulating the Fall 2012 Executive Speaker Series is B.V. McGrue, Human Resources Manager for the Boeing Company’s Commercial Aviation Services (CAS) in Seattle, Wash. He will speak on the topic: “Establishing the Right Work Culture,” on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at noon in Belcher Hall’s fourth floor auditorium.  

 

In July 2011, McGrue was named director of human resources, supporting the Commercial Aviation Services (CAS) organization for Boeing. His responsibilities include all aspects of the human resources functions in support of the Boeing CAS population. Prior to his current assignment, McGrue held the position of director of human resources for Boeing South Carolina, beginning December 2009.

 

McGrue has been with the Boeing Company for 26 years, with the majority of those years in some aspect of the HR function. He has held various positions of responsibility, including leading the Boeing human resources function in support of BCA manufacturing and quality, sales, marketing, communications, government and community relations. He was also director of human resources for BCA Engineering. 

 

While director of Northwest Employee Relations for the company, he was responsible for union relations, employee engagement, and the employee opinion survey for the northwest region, including Canada and Russia. Additionally, he has held executive human resource positions in BCA and at Boeing corporate in the field of diversity and employee rights, covering areas such as equal employment opportunity, dispute resolution, affirmative action, corrective action and policy administration.

 

McGrue has also experienced work assignments outside the human resources function in the area of industrial engineering and as a manufacturing supervisor.  And, he served on the boards of the Boeing/IAM Quality Through Training Program (QTTP), and the SPEEA/Boeing Ed Wells Partnership training initiative.

 

McGrue earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Central Washington University and a master’s degree in Managerial and Organizational Leadership from City University in Seattle. He has also completed executive human resources programs at Stanford and Cornell Universities.

 

McGrue spends his free time doing mostly any outdoor activity. He is married and has two sons.
